A new (German) podcast episode has been released. In this episode, we talk to Prof. Dirk Jörke about the relationship between democracy and governance from the perspective of political theory and the history of ideas. We ask how democracy has developed over the centuries and how the emergence of governance concepts can be explained. We discuss the forms of rule that underlie these concepts and how they should be evaluated. We also take a critical look at the current state of our political system: What challenges does democracy face today, and can processes of “good governance” offer solutions?
In the future, we will continue to welcome exciting guests from the RTG, including principal investigators, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers, who will report on their research and their journey through the college.
