David Hengsbach has been working at the Chair of Organisation and Economics at Goethe University Frankfurt under Prof. Dr Barbara Brandl since 2021. He has also been a doctoral student in the DFG Research Training Group “Standards of Governance” since April 2023.

Research interests

David Hengsbach’s doctoral thesis deals with the governance of payment systems as infrastructures. In particular, he is investigating the negotiation processes between the European Central Bank and the private banking and financial sector in the context of the ECB’s digital euro project.
